Scala Guitars Underdog in Blonde Amber Burst

The 2014 Underdog is a short scale, single cut, set neck construction instrument which has two sides to its story. While normally the front of the Underdog is based on a carved flame maple Private Stock look, this one was ordered with an aged top to match its back. The back of the instrument features ergonomically carved and custom distressed hand picked mahogany.

Throughout two decades of building custom instruments Scala became convinced that such a combination of nitro finished tops and oiled backs creates a more responsive instrument with quite amazing sound qualities. This aged Underdog sports a proprietary set of fine tuned Arcane USA pickups, as well as Scala’s Endless Fret slotting design, and a chambered body featuring their unique Sound Vents design. The rear inlayed aluminum sound plates, choice of woods and finish along with the rest of the Underdog’s custom personality is a token of Scala’s passion towards delivering an experience of a lifetime.
